
Coach Mendiola has been involved with Franklin Pierce Wrestling for the last 18 years. First as an athlete for former coach Steve Andersen from 1991 to 1995. He then went on to volunteer as an assistant under the tutelage of coach Andersen from 1996 to 1997. After coach Andersen's retirement from wrestling in 1997, coach Mendiola teamed with Erich Weight from 1997 to 2002. He was selected as PCL Assistant Coach of the Year in 2001, and was selected Region III Assistant Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2002. Coach Mendiola took over the duties as head coach in January 2002. He was selected as Seamount Pierce Coach of the Year in 2006, and was selected as the 2006 WIAA / US Marine Corps Sportsman of the Year for 3A Wrestling. Coach Mendiola attended Pacific Lutheran University and holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration major in Human Resources Management. He currently works for Weyerhaeuser Company.
This is Coach LaSalata's third year working with the Franklin Pierce Wrestling Team. As a senior in 2000 from Centralia High School in Centralia, WA he placed fourth in the WIAA State tournament at Heavyweight under the guidance of Duane Bailey, Dave Nehring, and Ray Smith. During his time there he was also named CHS Athlete of the Year and an Academic State Champion in Wrestling. As an undergraduate at Pacific Lutheran University he participated in both Wrestling and Football, earning All-Conference, Team Captain, and Academic All-American Honors in Football while being coached by Frosty and Scott Westering. At PLU, Coach LaSalata earned his Bachelors degrees in Exercise Science, Pre- Athletic Training, Coaching, Sports Management, and Sports Psychology as well as his Masters Degree in Education. In addition to assisting with the Franklin Pierce Wrestling Team, Coach LaSalata also serves as a staff assistant with the PLU Football Team were he coaches the Offensive Line and the Bomber Defense. Coach LaSalata is an 8th Grade Science teacher at Ford Middle School.
This also Coach Feist's third year coaching at Franklin Pierce HS where he is an alum and wrestled under Eric Weight and Jason Mendiola during the 1997-2001 seasons. From 2001-2005 he attended Central Washington University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Sceince Education. During the 2005-2006 school year he was a substitue teacher within various school districts, while also coaching wrestling at Surprise Lake Middle school in Fife. Coach Feist is currently teaching at Ford Middle School.
